A Modified Model for Automatic Generation Control in Deregulated Power Systems
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper presents a new simplified AGC model for deregulated power systems. New AGC model facilitates us to design the controller without considering bilateral contracts. And also concentrates only the load disturbances not on the contracted loads. New AGC in deregulated power system is modeled by modifying conventional model with inclusion of bilateral contracts. Bilateral contracts will allow DISCOs in one area to get power from another area. This inclusion complicates the design of the controller by adding the contracted power also along with the disturbance power. The proposed new AGC model is simulated in MATLAB environment and results were presented. Loss of Load Expectation Assessment in Deregulated Power Systems Using Monte Carlo Simulation and Intelligent Systems
Deregulation policy has caused some changes in the concepts of power systems reliability assessment and enhancement. In this paper, generation reliability is considered, and a method for its assessment using intelligent systems is proposed. Also, because of power market and generators’ forced outages stochastic behavior, Monte Carlo Simulation is used for reliability evaluation. Generation r...
متن کاملDesign of Fuzzy Logic Based PI Controller for DFIG-based Wind Farm Aimed at Automatic Generation Control in an Interconnected Two Area Power System
This paper addresses the design procedure of a fuzzy logic-based adaptive approach for DFIGs to enhance automatic generation control (AGC) capabilities and provide better dynamic responses in multi-area power systems. In doing so, a proportional-integral (PI) controller is employed in DFIG structure to control the governor speed of wind turbine. At the first stage, the adjustable parameters of ...

متن کاملA New Approach for Accurate Pricing of Reactive Power and Its Application to Cost Allocation in Deregulated Electricity Markets
Reactive power management plays an essential role in the secure operation of the power system as an ancillary service. Although in electricity markets, the particular attention is paid to active power, the reactive power also plays an important on total generation costs of electricity. On the other hand, as it is mainly confined to local consumption, to avoid market power and maintain the se...
